Believers calling upon their pastor’s resignation.

Fenerive East’s FLM church (Analanjirofo province) : in the end only a demonstration place

Today’s problems have been being a long time issue for Fenoarivo East’s FLM church since 1999. Mr Leta, the demonstrators’ spokesman and secretary for Fenerive East’s FLM church, summarized the situation as follows: Everything started in 1999 when Pastor Alphonse Lembiko took up his position. At first, he dismantled the church’s structure and its management organ without consultation by that time. Series of inconvenient behaviors were noticed and disliked by the FLM believers: repeated breaches of the church’s rules, byous judgments, failure to restore the church’s building after the year 2008’s cyclone Yvan… The consequent growing grudge finally burst out on March 26th, 2010 and drove the believers to demonstrate and launch strikes.

No correct religious gatherings was to be any more expected from that day on in Fenerive East, many FLM church’s brethrens preferred to keep staying at home as the church was turned into a demonstration building. The small number of those still joining the church is doing so with loudspeakers in order to denounce their church leader’s deviations to the whole of Fenerive East. Believers are even accusing their leader of being involved in the Rhodes Oil plants’ case with the authorities in the Analanjirofo region. Mr Leta attested that he was never to be seen in the area for being committing to run his precious wood business in the outback. The interrogated individuals actually didn’t display a shadow of hesitation when emphasizing that their leaders used the money basically dedicated to the church’s restoration following the cyclone to run his own business.

FLM Fenerive East: 20 years old and no progress

During the 21 winters long leadership of Alphonse Lembiko, the church’s estate has been going increasingly precarious, believers  are now forced to pray in the open since their church’s roof hasn’t been repaired after 2008, and many of them are simply leaving, disappointed by their leader. Even the sharpest criticisms from the council members are no more shocking the audience, many of which blaming the church’s leader for his taste for business at the church related issues’ expenses. Fenerive East’s church has already sent reports and complaints to Antananarivo, and remains in expectation for an answer. It is now called upon the very dismissal of Pastor Lembiko who has apparently withered, a situation which did not hinder him from challenging such a call. Fenerive East’s believers are longing for change.

Toamasina: The Anglican Church equally engulfed in troubles by an embezzlement case

The disputes within Toamasina’s Anglican Church are now an opened secret. The issue is actually going back to the embezzlement of financial support pledged by president Marc Ravalomanana by the church’s local leader. War has consequently been declared between priests and the church’s administration. Believers are completely confused, shaken, and shamed. The complaining priests are intending to hold a large scale demonstration and denounce their leader’s abuse on the waves. They subsequently waved the following threat: “ could this issue fail to be settled in a short time, they’d move aside from the Anglican church and build their own version of the Anglican church apart”. They are requiring nothing but the dismissal of their leader. The situation is increasingly tricky and a separation of the Anglican Church in Toamasina is to be feared
