Several dozens of High Authority of Transition and government’s members met and tried to define a common stand concerning the political situation’s current estate.
The HAT is being undermined by internal divisions. The most radical wing keeps on militating for an ideal transition undisputedly driven by Andry Rajoelina without any consideration of the other political mobilities involved by the Maputo agreements, while the others are increasingly giving in to the necessity to comply with the agreements, and consequently share power.
Within Rajoelina’s closest circle, Norbert Ratsirahonanana has been mentioned by a newspaper close to the transition as being one of those straining to convince the HAT leader to comply with the Maputo agreements.
The Senate’s palace meeting has been labelled an « emergency meeting » precisely because digging comes to shovel on the ground. Some governmental members would not have waved threats of resignation, could any clear strategy fail from emerging.
