Having the Malagasy former first lady finally back home became a cause for hope for the supporters of Marc Ravalomanana, but merely to a certain extent though. At the Magro square located in Behoririka, in which the former president’s supporters regularly meet, joy could have not been complete. The conditions imposed to Lalao Ravalomanana were actually rather humiliating, considering that the putsch originated ruling power dictated its own rules. As expected, absolutely no sign hints any likely come back home to be granted to Marc Ravalomanana.

Hope stained with concerns for Ravalomanana’s supporters

Lalao Ravalomanana had to make do with a jet sent by the SIPROMAD company, belonging to one of the transitional leader’s relatives, a car offered by the transitional leadership and a bodyguard expected to look after her security though being fully devoted to the very same transitional leadership. The SADC, the leading mediation group into the Malagasy political crisis, pondered the issue and decided to let it do as it likes. The Ravalomanana family did not have many options left no more but accepting those conditions, for Lalao Ravalomanana had to call in to her mother stuck in a hospital bed since weeks. Marc Ravalomanana’s supporters got some reasons to smile, but keep on wondering, how on earth could the ruling power ever be brought to allow the former president to recover home soil
