Madagascar’s clove workshop 2011: For the improvement and revitalization of the sector

Improving production quality and boosting export branches of cloves and its derivative products in order to re-conquer international markets. Such is the main objective of the workshop tending to revitalize the clove sector, held in the Region of Analanjirofo today and tomorrow.

This workshop will bring together all stakeholders in the sector to discuss the conception and implementation of appropriate strategies to develop production and to promote the export of cloves. More specifically, the workshop will identify problems hindering the development of the clove sector and will then propose solutions and recommendations regarding the boosting of the sector.  

Many topics will be discussed in details during the two-day workshop, including the current situation of the sector in Madagascar. This section will look at the situation of the sector in the area occupied by PPRR, the results of researches conducted by the FOFIFA on cloves in Madagascar, the results of the intensification program of export channels (a program funded by the E.U / Stabex). The HOMEOPHARMA, will, in turn, present the various products derived from cloves, and the Office for Standards in Madagascar will expose some standards concerning this product.
