Madajazzcar 2007: a bunch of talented artists to discover

Madajazzcar 2007, the 18th edition of the annual international jazz festival of Madagascar officially opened its doors on Monday october 1st and will last about two weeks. Madajazzcar is the favorite meeting point between jazz musicians and their fans. Traditionally, the festival is marked by the organization of jazz concerts in many locations in Madagascar, mostly in Antananarivo. Another particular aspect of Madajazzcar is that, in addition to the local talented and famous jazz musicians, jazz fans have the opportunity to appreciate and discover some popular international jazz artists who enthusiastically come to Madagascar to perform their music.

For this year then, many jazz concerts are organized in different concert halls and some well-known jazz clubs, and a bunch of jazz artists, both national and international, are there to give their own best to satisfy the public. Some of the artists participating in the festival include the talented Malagasy guitarist Hajazz, Fanaiky, Hajazz’s brother and a wonderful bass guitar player, the renowned Malagasy multi-instrumentalist Silo, the jazz singer from La Réunion Nirina Sulette, the Mauritian bass guitar player Lynle Marthe and many others.

At this moment, Madajazzcar is in its second week. And like its first week which brought a great deal of amazement and emotion to the fans, this second and last week of Madajazzcar will be full of creativity and good music.
