The Arema party’s national convention could decide about the party’s next candidate who will contest the presidential election within the next 15 months. The party’s national Secretary, Pierrot Rajaonarivelo, sticks to this convention, although a fringe of militants is considering him as the party’s obvious candidate.
The founder of the Arema, former president Didier Ratsiraka will definitely have a piece of his mind to give about it. Differences between the pro-Ratsiraka and the pro-Rajaonarivelo do go to quite a few years back. The former empowered party will thus have to do away with its internal dissensions.
Since his return to the country, the Arema’s national Secretary has been remaining rather in the shadows. He wasn’t basically welcome, because the Monja Roindefo government even suggested him to postpone his return to Madagascar.
Within the next days, the already announced return of the former president Didier Ratsiraka in Madagascar might indeed eclipse Pierrot Rajaonarivelo’s presence on Malagasy soil.
