Madagascans were generally able to have a decent Christmas celebration. It did however not keep political issues away from being raised during the family dinner. Widely mixed views have nearly become a standard scene, as displayed by the organization of a special meeting dedicated to “electoral victory” inside the Magro Square in Behoririka.

Supporters of former president Marc Ravalomanana and Avana party presidential candidate Jean Louis Robinson were keen on celebrating a “Christmas victory” on December 24th in the stead of the usual meeting, most likely for the sake of keeping spirits up and allay fears up to the release of final results of the presidential elections’ decisive round two.
