While about 20 parties are visibly part of our political scene, Madagascar has more than 100 of them.

Take a look at our political parties.

The majority of Malagasy political parties have neither a stated ideological goal nor any projected goal to improve society. The Nouvelles, in its editorial, flays these political phantoms, ?All political parties must state their goals and/or intentions for society, this is a fundamental necessity as much as party financing, ethics or professional training and experience. This is elementary. When we ask, what are their intentions: the big shots of these political entities dissemble or claim that their goals are confidential? It?s been like this for dozens of years now. In their meetings they all say they intend these lofty goals and especially in any public encounter, but when it comes right down to it, they have no plan, no progressive intent to improve the lot of the population. They have no methodology in place that predetermines their course, no training, no experience gained by actually doing anything. Where is their stated ideology? Where is the party structure?

Without these things, they are nothing in fact but a circle of those whose interest for personal gain is their only objective. They jump on board when it suits them; maybe it?s a means to an end, some possible administrative post?   Of the existing 183 listed political parties, only 20 among them have a real operational basis and who actively follow the national state of affairs.?
