According to the vice President of the University of Antananarivo, Jean Eric Rakotoarisoa, the 2nd edition of the students’ fair is going to take place at the University from October 21 to 23, 2010. Like the precedent edition, the students’ fair is organized by the students themselves with the help of the university’s presidency. The students’ fair is primarily targeted to students who have just got their “Baccalauréat” degree, and its goal is to guide the latter on the choice of studies they intend to pursue. Indeed, a wrong choice of major often leads university students to abandon their studies very soon, and contributes to increase the number of students repeating their school year, still according to the vice President of the University. Consequently, the 3 public high institutes existing in Antananarivo, including the National Agronomic Science Institute, the National Polytechnic Institute, and the Ecole Normale Supérieure, and the 4 major faculties of the university, including the faculty of Arts, Medecine, Science, and DEGS (Economy, Law, Sociology, Management) will be present during the fair to guide and inform the new students about the different departments of studies available in each faculty and school. Conferences and debates are also scheduled during this 2nd edition of the students’ fair, during which students can ask questions and give their point of views.
