The remnants of the Malagasy capital city's peculiar ancient architecture are best reflected by four Protestant temples protruding from the city's heights. And every passing year seem to make them more curious than ever before.

The capital city’s four historical temples

The Four Protestant Temples’ erection in Antananarivo goes back in time to the XIXth century. The older they get, the more focus from tourists, searchers, history and architecture fans they do keep capturing. Each of the Four Temples is wrought of stone. Keeping them the way they used to be at the beginning became such a delicate issue as time is going by, that the slightest restoration project requires attention and assistance from the very ministry in charge of cultural matters. The Four Temples actually entered the national heritage circle years ago. And still they stand, respectively in Faravohitra, Ambatonakanga, Ampamarinana and Ambohipotsy, overlooking the capital city from above.
