The ruling power, made uncomfortable by its former Telecommunication minister, tried to save its face by dismissing someone who’d left long before. Had this changed a thing? Although he was the one denouncing the illegal involvement of the government’s politicians in the cell phone operators related issue, Iharizaka Rahaingoson is actually the one investigated by the BIANCO. Does the anti-corruption office have the wrong target in sight, or does it only obey the HAT? The young minister is now paradoxically being punished for his integrity, namely his consent granted to Madamobil, and by the same way his disobedience to the HAT which has to pledge its favorite companies. “The law must be respected in my view” he said.
The former telecommunication actually refused to execute orders from above which contradicted the law. For being convinced of fully complying with the State of Rights, he recognized the court’s decision in favor of Madamobil, which allowed this 4th business company to operate in Madagascar. This young CEO and pioneer in the computing sector in Madagascar fully respected the OMERT’s authority and autonomy, as this national telecommunication watchdog authorized the license transfer between INTERCEL and MADAMOBIL, “After due consideration led together with the OMERT, there is not a shadow of a reason to hinder Madamobil from complete its operations”.
And then, the HAT reminded that it was the top ruler, beyond any court decision and any independent institution’s assessment. The HAT reminded that the OMERT was under the Telecommunication ministy’s control, and that now the Prime Minister is in control of the Telecommunication ministry. Neither the HAT nor his Prime Minister are supposed to poke their dictatorial noses in such neutral and independent institutions’ decisions, according to Iharizaka Rahaingoson. On the other hand, the ruling authority is blaming Iharizaka Rahaingoson for acting like a simple technician, in a government dimmed to be made of…simple technicians, and ordered him to justify his failure to block Madamobil.
Iharizaka Rahaingoson is officially blamed for disrespect, for having refused to oblige. But the man equally unveiled that he’s been waiting for explanations from the leadership concerning incentives to block Madamobil for no less than a couple of months, in vain. Lack of governmental solidarity is nowadays being punished, contrary to the opened violation of laws.
