The program working to improve urban mobility (PAMU) has just received additional funds for this year, amounting to 500.000 Euros. The aim of such funding is to improve the global transportation system in the urban district of Antananarivo (CUA). According to the Chairman of the Special Delegation of the CUA, Edgar Razafindravahy, “All public transport will be improved. Thus, the flagship project undertaken by the PAMU will not only be applied to the bus line 119, connecting Ankatso and the 67ha”.
Indeed, the signing of an agreement tending to support the activities of the Institute of Trades of the City (IMV), amounting to 1.006.090 Euros, was done yesterday at Analakely between the CUA and the Ile-de-France Regional Council. Such agreement is part of the cooperation between the city of Antananarivo and the Ile-de-France region that began in 1989. The agreement focuses primarily on supporting activities and projects in areas such as urban transport, town planning, protection of urban heritage, urban agriculture, sanitation and the promotion of sustainable urban tourism, as well as professional training. These projects are undertaken through the IMV, which became since 2008 the implementation tool of the cooperation’s projects.
