The capital city´s inhabitants appeared less willing to run up the national flag than usual for the sake of celebrating June 26th´s national day.

The national flag vastly more visible in the street than over households in Antananarivo

Some days to the national day, a very small number of households in Antananarivo hoisted the national flag although the national flag is, just as every year, within everybody´s reach. 
Speculating on such a lack of will to fool around with national colors would be a hard thing. The political opposition is holding it as Antananarivo´s reaction against the ruling power as the government and the army´s officers in command have been drawing the population to hoist the flag on end, apparently without results. 
Since the beginning of the crisis, hoisting the flag or not has been turning into a stake between the opposition and the High Authority of Transition. The one pushing for no flag up have, once again, the social upper hand
