Andry Rajoelina, de facto leader of the current transitional ruling power, is normally supposed to resign from his position, considering that his controversial candidacy at the incoming presidential race was just as so controversially allowed on July 24th. And he will have to step down before May 26th. And the other candidates serving with the ruling power will also have to emulate. But the whole clique keeps skirting around this obligation and use the potential postponment of the elections as a pretext to do so.

The transitional leader is being expected to step down and show the example

As far as we all know, absolutely no line of alternative electoral schedule has yet been issued. Neither the transitional government nor the electoral commission has made any shadow of step in such a direction. So, elections will somehow take place on July 24th until further notice. Every presidential candidate still actively serving within the State’s executive and legislative tiers are still expected to step down. On the other side, local military leaders and the National Reconciliation Council jointly called upon the elections to be called off, not that long ago. The electoral commission has not replied anything to this yet. Of this position, the cunning concerned candidates make a pretext to keep circumventing their obligation for now, and remain in charge.
