The National Office of Tourism in Madagascar has got a new chair. After being at the head of the organization for six consecutive years, Joel Randriamandranto, a tourist and hotel operator, handed over yesterday the presidency of the board of directors to Eric Koller, who also operates in the tourism industry.
President of the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant of Madagascar (FHORM) and Deputy General Manager of the hotel group “Colbert”, Eric Koller has earned the trust of the majority of 16 members of the board, receiving 13 votes against 3 earned by the other candidate, Guy Suzon Ramangason, CEO of Madagascar National Park. The vote took place yesterday at the National Institute of Tourism and Hotels in Madagascar.
Eric Koller explained that, « Activities will focus around the implementation of the 2012 work plan. Strengthening of regional offices, organization of public fairs abroad especially in Europe, awareness campaign of tourist operators to pay taxes, and then restoring the flight for the destination, a priority for the national office, are among the most important points in the project« .
