Chiefs of regions: decorate Rajoelina with the dragon’s teeth

Following the members of the HAT, the chiefs of regions are rising up to defend the TGV train’s political gains. Paradoxically, they are accusing the other mobilities of being interested by seats in the transition version 2. 

« The HAT mustn’t be removed but completed with new members from the three mobilities », stressed the Analanjirofo region’s chief on behalf of his peers. Michel Saina is judging that the transitional regime doesn’t look like ‘the Ikopa river » which doesn’t fancy reaching friends.  

The regions chiefs are calling upon a reward for the Rajoelina mobility for the ouster of president Ravalomanana. They are thus laying claim to the majority in all structures to be set up in the new transition. In clear words, the regions chiefs are simply ruling the fair sharing of seats out. 

« As far as role distribution is concerned, we refuse beverage management », warned Michel Saina.  The « little » politicians, for whom the transitional period is to be the only occasion to enjoy the taste of power, don’t intend to loosen their grip. After having won their seat, they are roaring at all those interested into a state responsibility. 

Saina Michel is reaching further more to the edge: « It is made clear that the unrests which took place in Madagascar were motivated by the quest of seats… the business of the hand made bombs case died down as soon as role distribution has been evoked ». The fake attempt projects would thus serve the Rajoelina mobility’s cause as it is on the verge to lose quite much after Maputo. 

The former parliamentarian appears more ferocious when assessing the political stake of role distribution in the setting up of the inclusive and consensual transition. « In the setting of the Maputo agreement, we want the dragon killer to be adorned with the beast’s teeth », protested Michel Saina. The chiefs of regions are calling upon « a solution adapted to the Malagasy people « , a solution that would answer to the popular movement’s the aspirations. 

« As a model for the setting up of the democratic structure, we ask for a quick election of… chiefs of region « , said Rasoloniananina Jean Christophe, from the Boeny region. The technocrats appointed by the Ravalomanana regime have been replaced by political militants. 

« Regions have always been in a transitional period even by the time of the legal regime, we mustn’t carry on this way », declared Rasoloniana Jean Christophe. « The election is a priority, let’s let the people speak out through free and transparent elections », added Saina Michel. 

The current chiefs of regions want regional elections to be the first elections to be held, just after the referendum. The calendar is still to be determined by the national conference whose holding must be maintained, according to the regions’ chiefs’ spokesman. They are definitely stepping pressure further more on Andry Rajoelina and his delegation in view of Maputo II.
