Monja Roindefo, the Rajoelina mobility’s Prime minister, was the first victim of this agreement which has not yet officially come into force. The president of the Monima party is contesting his eviction following a statement from the ICG. Even though Andry Rajoelina tried to save the face by immediately appointing a new Prime minister from the Ratsiraka mobility, the deadlock is complete. Monja Roindefo keeps on squatting Mahazoarivo in expectation of the State Council’s decision. The presence many soldiers all around the palace is only making the situation tenser than it actually is.
Fetison Rakoto Andrianirina, the Ravalomanana delegation chief, has taken advantage from the dispute within the Rajoelina mobility to brush his party’s position up. He has actually been granted the occasion to connect his stand to that of his leader. He is, now, emphatically claiming the quest for a genuine consensus by inducing the four parties to sign an agreement as an outcome of talks held on latest October 06th. « The ICG is doing nothing but mediating in order to help Malagasy reach a solution to drive themselves out of from the crisis », he said.
Fetison Andrianirina is straining to make his stand clearer following his agreement, though highly conditional, of Andry Rajoelina on top of the Transition. Henceforth, the Ravalomanana mobility’s official position is the refusal of Andry Rajoelina as president of the Transition. Any figure from the Rajoelina mobility is acceptable in the name of the consensus, as long as it is not the former mayor of Antananarivo who, according to the ousted president’s side, perpetrated a putsch.
Second signature
According to Fetison Andrianirina, the signature of a new agreement is paramount to restore a genuine consensus. The Ravalomanana mobility delegation chief insists on « the strong objection » put forth by his party at the time of the talks of October 06th: if Andry Rajoelina remains on top of the transition, he must forget about being a candidate at the next presidential election.
Equally for Monja Roindefo or Fetison Andrianirina, only the signature of a new agreement on the Transition’s charter implementation is able to break the deadlock. Trébilé Dramé, the ICG envoy, has, as far as he is concerned, attested that such a signature is not paramount, since the most important has already been signed in Maputo. He is even inclining to Rajoelina when recalling that mobility leaders had themselves called upon « all Malagasy » to be represented, way back in Maputo.
Christine Razanamahasoa has, then, come to the rescue, and stabbed her « former » Prime minister in the back. According to the Justice Minister, the charter of the transition has already been ratified, and the order produced by the president of the HAT, from then on the de facto president of the Transition, definitely allowed the appointment of Eugene Mangalaza as government chief.
Although, it all sounds strange, the government Roindefo II is still in place, only the Prime minister has been replaced. In the pending cold war between Monja Roindefo and Andry Rajoelina, the ministers have chosen their camp. Several members of the government had attended the Akamasoa center’s 20th birthday, and displayed themselves as being for the President of the Transition. The presidency actually invited the press to mention Andry Rajoelina with this new title. How about the « current » HAT turned into an « illegal » institution?
