Is a putsch originated regime the best teacher as for electoral matters? Andry Rajoelina is putting his money hypothetical perfect election to moderate the international community's attitude. The stake is huge: avoiding sanctions and earn international recognition whatever the ICG stand.

HAT: good looking electoral intentions in order to fool the international community

The dictating authorities cannot argue that they did not catch the point: the international community will never recognize any unilaterally organized elections in Madagascar. But it did not prove to be enough to deter a HAT dying for avoiding power sharing in any inclusive and consensual Transition. In spite of his criticisms of 50 years of electoral mistakes, Andry Rajoelina is retaining only one lesson: only the power holder has the best chances of victory.  And he subsequently wonders how does the international community dare waving sanctions despite his good will statements and his promises for free, fair, transparent, and even perfect elections.

« All of the latest 40 years’ problems will be to solve, the transitional regime is ready to organize a nationally and internationally recognized and accepted vote », prophesized Andry Rajoelina. « There have been 4 or 5 popular movements to reverse ruling regimes in 40 years », he reminded. « NO wonder! all of these regimes were rigged with frauds ». The dictating authorities’ leader is alleging that whatever has been failing to come true during the four latest decades, namely the independent electoral national Commission or CENI, will come true within the next 3 months. The HAT is opposing the electoral asset to the reproached unilateral policy argument.

Andry Rajoelina is internationally promoting his led elections by parading the electoral registers’ remake. « Due to fraudulent practices, ruling power’s candidates used to have a 10 to 15% advantage long before the polling day », he argued. The absolutely baseless allegations are likely to go down like a lead balloon. Andry Rajoelina believes in a system granting each and every voter the opportunity to check his effective presence on electoral registers. One of the revolutions announced by Andry Rajoelina is the cancellation of the orders granting a left behind voter the right to vote. He hinted that the ruling regime’s voters were able to vote five or six times on the Election Day. The theory is miles from convincing since voters having completed their duty have no erasable ink mark on the right thumb. Unless many extraordinary individuals have got a significant stock of right thumbs in their pockets, the limited number of those orders is far form enough to dramatically reverse the odds.

As keeping the best topic for the end, Andry Rajoelina paraded the unique ballot. « Ballots belonging to a candidate feared by the ruling regime used to fail from reaching polling stations », he argued, with figures, this time around: 50 polls out of 100 used to be correctly supplied. The reality is, however, far less complicated: lots of small guns candidates simply lacked the necessary funds to print all of their own ballots, so they were used to supply polling stations located where they were standing chance for a best possible score. Then Andry Rajoelina denounced an alleged fraudulent process of buying the voters’ choice. It would consist buying the opponent’s ballots for 5,000 or 10,000 Ar so that they do not end in the box. But can this expensive practice really pledge any certainty to the client candidate?

This propaganda around the organization of free and transparent elections has one and only one goal: the seduction of the international community. This legislative vote meant to turn out a constituent assembly and a national assembly for the 4th Republic, is not only a legal absurdity, but also the HAT key to remain empower until the end of its transition and beyond. « In face of all the efforts that we are making in order to bring change, why on earth having so much hatred against their authors to the point of calling for sanctions? », moaned Andry Rajoelina.
