Is the HAT leader bound to reprocess his roadmap anew? Will the attempt to cast the joint three other mobility leaders be enough? Andry Rajoelina pretended to be thoroughly relying on the decision stemming from his "teny ifampierana". Balls! Just a way to reject the responsibility few days to the verdict about sanctions against Madagascar's authorities! The King is far behind, the pawns are moving ahead alone.

Andry Rajoelina vanishing from the battlefield, leaving his allied parties on the front line

The HAT did what it took to keep in control of its led debate, making derivations from its basic roadmap impossible. In order to kill the Maputo charter, the Rajoelina mobility patches a new roadmap up, pushes the other opposed mobilities aside, and strains to involve the « nation’s forces ». Finding support and new actors is the strategy. More or less than 2500 people obliged. Only some 900 arbitrarily chosen anonymous individuals have been granted the privilege to vote legitimacy for the dictating transitional regime, as well as orientation for the path to the fourth Republic .

« Its outcome will be literally implemented », said Andry Rajoelina after the opening ceremony. He did not take part in the proceedings. The most amazing is the fact that the dictating authorities’ leader would allegedly accept his roadmap to be altered by a decision from a meeting of anonymous people. The HAT actually wants to reject the responsibility of its own unilateral rules drifting away from the Maputo charter. Andry Rajoelina did what it took to skirt around the round of talks convened by the African Union. « There are other priorities like the organization of this debate », he declared prior to a bold statement undermined by a shadow of hesitation: « I won’t go to Addis Ababa « .

There is a double disengagement from the HAT leader: disengagement from Addis Ababa, and disengagement operated in Ivato from his responsibilities. The dead end is predictable, but the alleged legitimacy granted to these anonymous and unelected representatives of the people on the basis of intense propaganda around national sovereignty is masking the horse’s sight. Can two hundred carefully selected minor parties ever match three major and successively empowered forces? Andry Rajoelina simply has to reset the scale and make the ones of his choice the whole nation’s representatives, entitled to decide of the way forward. The HAT was actually trying to constitute a decent counterweight to the opposing front. The UDR would allegedly represent 40% of voters. Was majority not over 50%, be it only by definition?

With such unfair rules of engagement, the opponents to the HAT regime would have mathematically been defeated by the legion of minor parties which never achieved a thing in electoral terms. In the same way, the Andry Rajoelina has one elected official: the  » mayor of Madagascar » as labelled by foreign media groups.  Some opposition parties dared participation to the debate, and left as so quickly, denouncing a masquerade hiding foregone conclusions. Andry Rajoeina can also use this debate to display some shadows of opposition to his roadmap. Ivato would have only been another brick in the HAT pavement of its objectives’ way: avoiding referendum, enforcing acceptation of its illegal rules and getting a devoted assembly. So good for him if he wants this opposition to be an evidence of democratic gesture from a leader listening to its people, who cares?
