Madonline (M): Your point about Madagascar’s current situation
Fanony Fulgence (FF) The nation’s situation is getting worse day by day. Andry Rajoelina’s transitional government is playing with the devil, and the more errors it makes, the worse is the people’s situation going, as proved by the European Union led financial support suspension due to the HAT’s (High Authority of Transition) unilateral decisions. Lots of Madagascans were making a living from these European Union financed projects, now they are going to add up to those who lost jobs in the run of this crisis. Besides, leaders are taking advantage from the situation and filling their bank accounts up: Rhodes oil plant exports. What is currently going on is a shame for Madagascar; the independence’s 50th birthday is going to be celebrated in a crisis. Rajoelina’s mentality is a shame, he’s no man made for ruling any nation: whatever he is uttering is being altered on the next day. We can at least definitely hold it for granted that the guy has expertise to entertain as a DJ but in no way to rule as a leader.
M: any solution?
FF: Only negotiations are the way out of from this crisis, the recovery of the negotiation table and the talks to reach common ground. I believe this crisis to be no that long any more. It wouldn’t last beyond the end of the year 2010. Rajoelina mustn’t forget that now or later, the people is going to stand, even those who once supported him, since the people is the one to be suffering from his decisions.
M: a message?
FF: We have been being independent for 50 years, but no specific regime has yet been the right one. Andrianampoinimerina got it right about Madagascar when saying: ny ranomasina no valam-parihiko, (the sea is my field’s border, as a mark of national unity). Clear pattern has been missing those who had to implement this afterwards, a situation which has been leading to a development failure. I’m equally addressing the youth, may they keep on being cautious in order not to be lured. Bluntly roaring that elders are of no use no more isn’t a profitable thing at all. Building up a nation ruled by youth and elders all the way is in no way impossible provided that a clear pattern is being drafted. Then, I’m addressing the rest of the population, the HAT is serving lies all the time to keep its grip on power. Nobody but its members have an interest in keeping things the way they are now.
In the end, I would like to express my gratitude to Madonline’s reporters for the opportunity to express my views over the Malagasy crisis since the opposition is being banned from speaking on the RNM and the TVM’s waves as well as on some private stations’ ones
