What is he going to say again? There have been no leaks, but the date is booked. The HAT leader is going to produce a speech to the nation on Wednesday evening, May 12th, 2010 on public waves. Even after several days of delay, doubts about an elusive " public salute " government are still remaining.

Andry Rajoelina is going to announce the scoop on Wednesday at 20 hours, local time

After Monday, then Tuesday, Andry Rajoelina finally chosed Wednesday to reveal his political intentions to the nation. In a poor run of doubts and defeats, the HAT xth roadmap is still in the womb despite the authoritarian regime’s repeated tries. Moving a step forward in order to move  a couple of ones backwards is the proof of a flawed hesitation between the compulsory duty to remain in command and the quest for an eluding international recognition.

According to the Malagasy tradition, projects to be tackled with no way back allowed, are tackled on Wednesday. Nothing indicated that the statement to the nation would be related to the Vital II government’s presentation even though the HAT Prime minister actually inherited of the Roindefo II team. Is Andry Rajoelina going to keep on challenging the mediators, the international community and the other political mobilities by capitalizing a go no go action?

A government’s constitution without consensus, not even a joint agreement on the prime minister’s name, is a foregone crash. The international community, including France and the European Union, are requiring the recovery of the negotiation table in order to provide common ground to the transition. The Ravalomanana, Ratsiraka and Zafy mobilities denounced the HAT attempted enforcement of a politically dividing governmnent and an electoral calendar rebuked by the majority.

Whatever government to be proposed by Andry Rajoelina is to be boycotted and rejected by the Madagasikara mobility. “We haven’t been invited, but even if we had, we would have said no”, declared Ange Andrianarisoa, from the Ratsiraka mobility. Mamy Rakotoarivelo, from the Ravalomanana mobility shot the HAT led political corruption process down, and stated that none of the…what was it?…public salute government would successfully settle the crisis. Even the jurist Eric Rakotoarisoa advised against the unilateral erection of any government as well as against the conduct of elections the same way, for believing all of such projects built without national unity to be doomed.

So what if Andry Rajoelina announced that he would give such foolish projects up and recover the negotiation table? Such a reasonable stand would potentially be unthinkable from Antananarivo city’s mayor, regarding his latest statements and his will to keep in control of Madagascar’s reins during and after the transition. His defiance against the international community will be condemned, but Andry Rajoelina is expecting to make an advantage of it. “No one is going to oppose the expression of the Malagasy people’s will by democratic elections”, himself dixit.

The idea of a national patchwork but non TGV government would more or less be an acceptable ground for the HAT elections, according to the HAT standards. Anyway, everything is still a matter of speculation since Andry Rajoelina has been recently appearing more and more unpredictable. No one really knows what he wants any more, not even his own little self. Even the South-African president Jacob Zuma afforded the following remark about Madagascar’s young strong man: “he doesn’t know what he wants! ”
