Believable elections: the HAT thwarting plans on purpose

The HAT´s Cabinet meeting has signed its bill deemed to govern regional and local elections. An extraordinary meeting will be held by Rajoelina sphere´s parliament together with its allied forces on July 25th, 2011. During 12 days, the debate will focus on the way to cover their candidates´ colors up for the sake of regional and national electoral showdowns. 

“It is merely a political decision, it doesn’t mean that elections would take place shortly after “, is generally being argued by the authority. Yet the HAT´s schedule seems logical. The electoral registered is expected to be ready on July 31st, 2011. Texts ruling regional elections are deemed to be signed and empowered by the end of August´s first week. Voters recognizing the HAT will be expecting an official call in August´s second half so that the vote takes place before the end of the dry season. 

The HAT is unilaterally building its own laws, since the fake inclusiveness failed from gaining recognition, and gives its government the task of contributing into the draft of the voters´ register. This mission is officially completed thanks to the computer offered by the HAT´s president! The CENI is kept under controle by a financial support delivered by the drop. Rajoelina´s supporters even pushed for a special commission supposed to look after such a control. 

Whatever has been achieved in 2011 proves as a matter of fact that the personal referendum organized by Andry Rajoelina in order to make his power expandable was far from being believable. The father of this constitution turning an elected mayor of Antananarivo into a permanent junta leader was rewarded with an Interior minister´s position. The involved ministers confirmed that their electoral register would be ready in time, and voluntarily omit to reckon with untamed voters refusing to return their census ticket. 

Each and every attempt to restore a shadow of democracy in a purely not democratic transition has been failing. The young Andry Rajoelina has done his homework, and now refrains from announcing any deadline. “Incredible isn´t it? people don´t want to hear about elections, but as we are keeping on moving forward, we are summoned to provide deadlines!”, he declared. 

The mayor turned into chief of state by a municipal election doesn’t dare challenging the international community too directly in spite of anti-SADC boastings based on fake national sovereignty. The single support from France increasingly impatient to transform the try and get an openly pro-French Malagasy government is not proving enough yet. 

The African Union looks after that that the putsch maker doesn’t use democratic means in order to grant legitimacy to his power. Only a democratic transition complying with a recognized roadmap is entitled to do so and make the next democratic processes in Madagascar believable.
