False propaganda departure: the duel between Rajoelina and Ratsiraka

The HAT was keen on preventing any other declared candidate from making any self promoting move in order to clear the runway for Andry Rajoelina, failed however from thwarting the first official meeting held by and for Roland Ratsiraka in Antananarivo. In the run of erecting an Opposition, the former mayor of Toamasina offers real ideas and a decent vision of society front fundamentally different from that of the unelected leader too much willing to cover up his expired term on top of an illegal ruling power, his awful performance with non viable projects publicly and spectacularly launched to this end. Malagasy crisis, the SADC still feels in for the decisive settlement

A SADC organization under pressure has the next say in the settlement of the crisis which has been engulfing Madagascar during the latest three years. In its name, the regional organization’s locally based Office reacted at once, although failing again from triggering any significant development in the crisis settlement process. Only one more call upon the leading parties to implement the entire Roadmap the way it is, was launched, and adds up to the list of all of the other shots in the dark. The shy call to order is more specifically and even exclusively directed at the HAT’s ruling power, constantly manipulating the poorly drafted agreement to its own liking in order to serve its own electoral ambition. The security forces’ next common target: Louisette Raharimalala

Colonel Lylison and generals Radafy and Ravalomanana did not appear properly armed to deny accusations of "genocide" and "violation of human rights" perpetrated by security forces in the run of a guerrilla like war against the Dahalo. "Theories" recovered the front scene at the expenses of facts. These theories actually targeted one single enemy, namely Louisette Raharimalala, former member of the latest legal Parliament, who has just publicly denounced abuses in the south and openly blamed them on the armed forces. Elections in 2013, the international community’s point still undecided

One step forward then one step back and not a single sign of the decisive big jump; the international community’s commitment to support the electoral process in Madagascar with the current political situation is far from a done deal. The official announcement of the United States’ withdrawal was no good omen. Since the basket is struggling to get filled up, the Malagasy ruling counterpart announced its contribution amounting to some $ 30 million, mainly obtained by patching pieces to be collected from the year 2013’s local budget up. Financial support to the elections : the basket is struggling to get filled up at all

Who is interested in dropping some millions by financially supporting elections supposed to take place in 2013 in Madagascar, considering the current conditions? Certainly not the multilateral foreign finance support sources, let alone the major economic powers. The “basket fund” is struggling to get visits at all, even though the Electoral Cycle’s Support Project for Madagascar was signed. The UNDP’s spokeswoman called upon the international community which actually expects a concrete deal to capitalize prior to deciding anything. Lire la suite »

Andry Rajoelina, officially in for propaganda and pre-electoral campaign

The HAT leader does no more make any mystery of it and officially opened the hostilities. Everything began with his verbal act of defiance against the United States recommending that whoever linked to the year 2009’s putsch Madagascar should be kept away from the next elections. Next move: the candidate supposed to be out puts his best foot forward on the national TV channel by opening several projects, single purpose of which is to serve his electoral ambitions in several towns throughout the country. And looking down in advance on whoever would be attempted to criticize any of these sudden development projects deemed to buy votes was also on schedule. Lire la suite »

General Richard Ravalomanana took advantage from his predecessor’s mistake

Although he was not directly involved in the year 2009’s military putsch, General Richard Ravalomanana has massively contributed into keeping Andry Rajoelina on top, and rewarded with this appointment as the national state police’s number one, even though he has to owe such a promotion to his predecessor’s early and unexpected mistake, which was basically not reckoned with during the transitional rule. UN : one more dictator willing to do away with the US-American point.

In front of the UN general assembly, Andry Rajoelina appeared first and foremost prone to put the best possible personal foot forward by depicting an idyllic picture of the social, political and economic disaster which has been engulfing Madagascar since his putsch casted in 2009. He indeed challenged President Obama’s United States of America, who stand against presidential candidacy right to be granted to figures linked to the three years old putsch. Good day for the Opposition, which renews this week its pressure over the SADC’s Troika, expected to meet very soon. Lire la suite »

One year of nothing for a fake consensual transition

September 2011 - September 2012, one year ago, the self proclaimed president promised to draw Madagascar out of from the crisis created by the unconstitutional government change, in short his putsch in 2009. The HAT plays a deaf ear to the crisis settlement roadmap and the year 2013’s elections, expected to make its rule legitimate, are already dropping in credit. Lire la suite »

Dahalo threat: the army and the ruling power feel destabilized

Security withered from the country’s southern part. Is it a social or rather a political issue? The police forces struggle to restore public order and skirts around the issue with speeches over an alleged destabilization maneuver. How little the resistance offered by the armed forces in order to protect people is an opened secret. Villagers have taken charge, in other words, the rule of law has made place for self-justice… in the South Lire la suite »
