The ousted president Marc Ravalomanana put up a low profile after the Addis Ababa meeting and paved the way for Fetison Andrianirina, back then the brand new Transition's Co President. In the setting of Maputo III, he emerged from silence again to remind that the ultimate goal remains the elections, and to express his concerns about the present stumbling block's consequences on the people Lire la suite »

Presidential Council: no consensus, unlikely cohabitation,
At the end of the meeting held between the Ravalomanana, Zafy and Ratsiraka mobilities in response to the Mozambican President's invitation, the three headed Presidential Council's working mode appears clearer. The resolution of this Maputo III stage is challenged by Andry Rajoelina. The latter pretends that the alteration of the Addis Ababa Act is ineffective, since it is, allegedly, in violation of the Inclusive Consensus principle, whose pattern has his own self, allegedly again, and no one else on top. Maputo III: Hope and despair
The third political summit of Maputo is over. In spite of his refusal to join the Mozambican capital city, Andry Rajoelina took part into the discussions from a distance. Hope is allowed for some. The country is, more than ever, in a dead end for others. Lire la suite »
The incarcerated parliamentarian Raharinaivo Andrianatoandro re-established by the ACP/EU
The political crisis in Madagascar has been extensively debated by the ACP and European Union countries' parliamentary assembly. The deputy Raharinaivo Andrianatoandro attended this meeting in Angola, between two lawsuits. The imposed authorities, stemming from March 2009's civilian and military putsch, have been scolded on issue of political prisoners. Their implementation of the political agreements dealt between the different mobilities will be supervised closely. Lire la suite »
Erection of the government: the army is putting the three mobilities under pressure
The dumb green machine is rumbling again to influence the political debate in favor of its favorite mobility. The armed forces' command is having more and more meetings to confront the possible government change. The joint chief of staff, General André Ndriarijaona, is short of credibility as for the armed forces' supposed unity and neutrality. Lire la suite »
Government: Andry Rajoelina opposing the consensus of Maputo
It is "no" again. Andry Rajeolina definitely turned down the three united mobilities' proposal from Maputo aiming at putting the national unity government in place. The transitional president even satirized on a "Mozambican government" which, according to him, would fail to be instituted without his agreement. Lire la suite »
Government: « the ministers of the late HAT should fade away »
The first reports concerning the implementation of agreements signed then in Maputo in Addis Ababa by the four mobilities are reflecting a bogged down political and institutional crisis in Madagascar. Nothing is as good as it is supposed to be in the various institutions of the Transition, not even within the government still monopolized by the Rajoelina mobility. Lire la suite »
Fetison Andrianirina: the title of transnitional president is nothing but formal
In the setting of the Maputo III talks between the three mobilities, Fetison Andrianirina addressed a serious institutional crisis on top of the state. The transitional president does not recognize either of both of the Transition's Co Presidents, and tries to reduce their role to those of simple advisors. Lire la suite »
Assassination attempt: the Andry Rajoelina band’s latest expected bluff
The presidential security announced that the transitional president's car would have been targetted by a shooting in the evening of December 2nd, on its way to the Ivato airport. Lire la suite »
Rhodes Oil Plant at the balance sheet time: change to give back
The exportation of Rhodes Oil Plants turns into the heart of the political crisis linked to the bogged down national unity's construction process. Albert Zafy accuses the Rajoelina administration of having something to hide, and wants the depredation of the country's national resources to be openly inquired. The HAT minister for Environment, however, lays a supposedly positive balance sheet of the exception period from the figures of State returns. Lire la suite »
