The release of some political prisoners and the continuing detention of many of them were far from satisfying the Ravalomanana mobility. Fetison Andrianirina is resenting this non respect of political agreements signed in Maputo. As far as he is concerned, on one hand the release had to be immediate and unconditional, and on the other hand, charges had to be dropped.
Temporary freedom, then a conditional release and a prison sentence with reprieve, the decisions taken by the court are reflecting the Justice ministry’s policy. Its attempt to get commitment to forget any political activity from political prisoners just failed. The legalistic Prime minister Manandafy Rakotonirina, who has just been freed, will make the journey toward Maputo beside Ihanta Randriamandranto, the leader of the legalistic women’s movement.
Minister Christine Razanamahasoa claims the superiority of the transition’s justice over the agreements of Maputo which are not international agreements according to her. She is insisting on the fact that the four mobilities have to turn out demands and that the final decision is only that of the judge. Such a strategy consists in contesting the implementation of prisoners related political agreements, which are stipulating the release and the cancellation of charges against the concerned persons.
Another relevant point of the Maputo agreements which has not been respected by the present transition’s authorities, according to Fetison Andrianirina, is the protection of goods belonging to Marc Ravalomanana. The chief of delegation is denouncing the illegal and abusive exploitation of some of Tiko group’s corporations founded by the former president, whereas other factories are still remaining out of order.
Fetison Andrianirina is defending the transition’s charter’s article 22, which concerns the creation of a Defence and National Security Reflection Committee. « The international community is thinking over a way to smoothen the collaboration with the militaries », he explained.
The Ravalomanana, Ratsiraka and Zafy delegations are bound to be represented in an institution that would dent the Rajoelina mobility’s grip on the armed forces. This would necessarily not question the current commands which boosted a dimmed to fail orange revolution.
In the management of state matters, the Ravalomanana mobility is denouncing the pressure on its elected officials still in charge. Fetison Andrianirina is pointing at high state officials who are compelling TIM mayors to follow the Andry Rajoelina tendency. Elected officials, still loyal to the outgoing president and reluctant to the de facto transition, actually have to face up to intimidation measures as destitution and inquiry threats, on a daily basis.
