Iavoloha: the self proclaimed president officially presents his wishes

On the political plan, Andry Rajoelina keeps on saying that the election is the only way out of from the crisis. He promised that it would be a free and transparent election, and went as far as pretending that it would, allegedly, be the first ever of the kind in Madagascar. « Everybody can become candidate, even those who had problems at the time of the crisis of 2002 « , he announced. The wink to Pierrot Rajaonarivelo is obvious. Andry Rajoelina spoke of a national renewal, a right meant to respond to the popular struggle’s aspirations as well as to the globalization’s requirements, which will be capitalized by a free and democratic election.  

As he probably believed to make some correct witty phrases, Andry Rajoelina hinted that the free former chiefs of state, presently mobility leaders, would not be welcome at the time of the next elections, in a rather displaced way. Do appreciate: « It is like a rally raid race, there is a technical examination. The first car is too old and turns out smoke », it was one for Ratsiraka; « The second car can no more find spare parts », and this for Albert Zafy.  

« The third car is out of the race « , the young putsch maker is certainly not anxious to dare the challenge with his victim, the elected president Marc Ravalomanana, at the time of an election. So, there we are! The former DJ is always true to himself, a French TGV, not even a car. Could a train derail and contest a presidential rally raid…? The self proclaimed transitional president has, once again, been trapped by his speech editors. They have introduced words which made the young guy stutter, most likely because he’s never ever heard them before.  

Andry Rajoelina started his speech with a warning towards his political adversaries. « Stirring hatred and division up among the Malagasy is unacceptable, the transitional power is going to tackle its responsibilities so that elections are completed », warned the president of the HAT.  

The colonel Camille Vital government’s priority will, thereupon, be the preservation of security, the year 2010’s main mission. The choice of this engineering officer and security agency owner becomes very obvious! Andry Rajoelina announced that the four helicopters dedicated to the struggle against the cattle robbery have already entered the country. 

« The road was difficult but we can affirm, today, that we are on the way of change « , protested the president of the HAT. He conceded, however, that the country’s problems will not be settled in a matter of months. Andry Rajoelina rejected the guilt on his predecessors’ backs, pretending to be the cure and not the virus. The justice now undermined by corruption, a land policy which recently drove people to be stripped from their property, an agriculture that no more grants food self-sufficiency for lack of financial support… These are obviously all the others’ fault, aren’t they?  

On the economic plan, the president of the HAT promised total liberalism. « The HAT, while managing the political transition, is re-launching the economy, it will endorse its facilitator and regulator’s role « , announced Andry Rajoelina. He said to be willing to reinforce dialogue with the economy’s various sectors. The political calculation is simple: « drop the responsibility of the country’s renewal on the private sector’s back ».  

In face of the currently shooting up unemployment, the impact of international sanctions, the imposed authorities’ leader is standing by… agriculture. A few 30 000 ha of lands would be distributed to young wolves eager to get involved in agricultural production. They would receive material support and training to get involved in a new activity.  

The big scoop was the official announcement of the civil servants’ wage raise, decided in the evening, in spite of the Finance minister’s reluctance.  The little rational decision is stemming from the heart and not from cold reason, according to the explanations put forth by Andry Rajoelina himself. Dazzling political propaganda finally has the upper edge on the increasingly dangerous economic reality.
