Andry Rajoelina is, somehow, pushing his luck a wee too much when bluntly attacking the International Contact Group meant to monitor the Malagasy political crisis’ settlement. « I am bound to assume my responsibilities », he pretended. « Elections will be taking place in May 2010 whatever it takes ». The HAT leader is, by so saying, absolutely ignoring February 18th ICG meeting to be held in Addis Ababa Ethiopia which might finally punish Madagascar’s dictating power. According to Andry Rajoelina », there is hatred towards the Malagasy nation to the point of calling upon sanctions « . This « hatred » is, actually, likely to collectively or individually target the current regime’s lords guilty of the unconstitutional change.
As usual, Andry Rajoelina is lurking behind the people. « Could there be any sanctions against the present leaders, these are going to impact on Madagascar too. I do not fear sanctions against my own self, but is the hatred against one man worth taking the whole Malagasy people as hostage ». The young leader is so much addicted to merging political issues and heartwrenching phrases that the show increasingly becomes dull when he hints that the ICG and a share of the international community hate him. In any case, on the eve of the Addis Ababa meeting, no one can reproach him a failure to get the « people » ready to face up the worse possible scene.
The HAT is, however, still having a double stand. Andry Rajoelina certainly gave in to his allies’ reluctance to resume compliance with the Maputo Charter and the Addis Ababa Additional Act, a tiny invitation is left for the ICG. This committee empowered by the international community could well be making a U-turn too, and support the HAT and its unilateral moves. The HAT sent its Prime minister Camille Vital to put the proposal on the table. « If the solution to the current crisis is bearable, we are going to assess it closely », promised Andry Rajoelina provided that this solution closely complies with his unilateral roadmap including his led elections of a constituent assembly.
« We know that all citizens are bound to go on with elections », boasted Andry Rajoelina. However, he deigned to concede that the ICG and the other mobilities’ involvements were needed in his framework. At any rate, the HAT personal and unilateral roadmap is being labelled unchangeable by Ambohitsorohitra’s Lord and Master. Andry Rajoelina said to have displayed good will evidences when considering the international community expectations transmitted through the ICG. He told himself to be « bound to make ground for a solution, could the different mobilities agree on preparing the election of a constituent assembly « .
The HAT leader is, however, not inclined to share any power with the institutions pledged by the transitional Charter signed by himself and the other mobility leaders. Now he is complying with his political allies when stating that this consensual and inclusive transition has been imposed by the international community. « Madagascans will have the last say in it, because citizens are entitled to choose their way to go, and because Madagascar belongs to Malagasy « , barked Andry Rajoelina. As far as we can remember, he is undisputedly the single one to have ever deprived the Malagasy people from its choice in spite of all of his nationalist and eloquent speeches. A share of the Rajoelina mobility is even daring calling upon a confidence referendum.
