The Deputy Prime minister in charge of Foreign Affairs left the government. It is not his first resignation from a government on its way down.

Ny Hasina Andriamanjato: always the first rat to leave a sinking ship

The current political evolution is playing against the transitional leader, Andry Rajoelina. One can already wonder whether the High Authority of the Transition is not yet in the ropes. Ny Hasina Andriamanjato’s surprise departure from the government might be a sign of harder days to come for the leaders.

For being true to his father, Pastor Richard Andriamanjato, Ny Hasina has become a high profile expert of political hit-and-run-for-good operations. In the government’s back, the rumor is running like a red alert: if a Andriamanjato decided to leave the ship, this ship has not many more years on its life expectancy board.

According to his close collaborators, the Malagasy HAT diplomacy chief is persuaded that the best way to end the Malagasy crisis would be the compliance to the implementation of the Maputo agreements. He would have attempted to convince Andry Rajoelina, but the High Authority of Transition’s leader ignored him.

In 2002, Ny Hasina Andriamanjato left the Didier Ratsiraka government, officially for health based reasons, when there was nothing more to expect out of it. Now, Ny Hasina Andriamanjato’s departure has, this time around, been welcomed by some of Rajoelina’s proxies who made pastor’s son responsible of the present  Malagasy diplomacy’s failure.

The current situation shows nothing good for Andry Rajoelina. His camp is divided, some soldiers are quarrelling on money based issues, a Deputy Prime minister is leaving the government, and the international community is waving new sanctions. The usual climate of the end of the show is under way
