The ruling authorities and the opposition`s three political spheres are putting the blame on one another concerning the unrests caused by the denial of the right to gather inside the MALACAM stadium in Antananarivo. The EMMO REG forces repressed the demonstration, turning out chaos throughout Behoririka. Looters eventually tried to take profit of the situation, but the police forces deterred them

Opposition: the denial to gather in the MALACAM stadium leads to unrests

The clashes which took place in the evening of November 10th in Antananarivo between the EMMO REG forces and supporters of the opposition`s three political spheres, led to six suspects arrested, including a couple of women, 2 cars burnt down and one cab ruined. Colonel Ravalomanana promptly blamed the opposition leaders: “the gathering might have eventually been infiltrated but one thing is to be held for granted, nobody can keep the crowd under control”. Those ones who would have been told about the denial of authorization might be pursued.

The reply proved just as so sharp from Lalatiana Ravololomanana during a last minute press conference held at former president Zafy`s villa Elisabeth: “we`ve got things to say, ideas to be shared, we will never accept to be silenced”. The three political spheres are holding the police forces` denial of the MALACAM stadium in spite of the city authorities` granted green light, as the genuine cause for these troubles.

The colonel Ravalomanana justified the repression as a simple implementation of the law:”everything we know is that the gathering hasn’t be authorized by the due authorities”. Then he criticized the arrested demonstrators` illegal behavior which might lead then to enlarge the HAT`s political prisoners`ranks for troubles against public order, illegal installation of barricades, provocation and insults against police forces, or for destruction of public goods.

The EMMO REG successfully repelled mobs thanks to a far less usual weapon than tear gas grenades, rubber bullets. Looters obviously tried to pull advantage from the subsequent chaos to penetrate the SUPREME CENTER commercial center dedicated to information technology, in vain. A van and another car were burnt down in Behoririka not far from the gas station. Firemen were late due to the chaos.

Now, Monja Roindefo is the next one being denied the right to demonstrate inside the MALACAM stadium. The former HAT prime minister, current opponent and self proclaimed “defender of the real change” subsequently denounced a political incentive to that. He argued that the stadium was free on November 13th, and consequently refuses to join the small theater of Analamaintso, a strategic place chosen by the urban authorities supportive of the HAT. A new challenge is incoming again then, Monja Roindefo had warned that he was bound to recover the streets.
