Who will be entitled to the transitional presidential seat? Who has got the largest legitimacy or legality to become a chief of state? In Addis Ababa, Andry Rajoelina claims a so said popular legitimacy which raised him to the power and especially an imposed transition governing the country since March 2009. The president of the HAT wants to save his position whatever it takes, and hides behind the Maputo agreements which he failed to implement not that long ago just to try to save his duet with his Prime minister Monja Roindefo, without success.
Since Maputo II proved appalling to everyone, the discussions of October 06th, at the time of the International Contact Group’s assessment mission, would have allegedly been advantageous for the Rajoelina mobility. The young man thought to have acquired the transitional presidency for good and hastily appointed the national unity Prime minister proposed by the Ratsiraka mobility. The government’s head is not enough for the admiral’s headquarters. The former president estimates to be entitled to the transitional presidency since he was the latest elected president before the one who « resigned ».
Marc Ravalomanana sticks to his new creed, the « TSAR » or the Transition Without Andry Rajoelina. « We will never accept a putsch maker as president of the Transition « , is being repeatedly emphasized in Addis Ababa. The ousted president refuses be responsible of granting legitimacy to a Coup. Therefore, he is claiming the Transition’s top for his mobility. Andry Rajoelina tries to return the favour by accusing Marc Ravalomanana of having operated a so called « electoral Coup ».
Now let us just wonder who deserves the Transition’s presidency the most. Marc Ravalomanana proposed Manandafy Rakotonirina, his Prime minister appointed before being held in custody by the Rajoelina administration. In face of a barrage no from Andry Rajoelina, the ousted president proposed a neutral figure, Raymond Ranjeva, an international judge . Following a self application to the job, Didier Ratsiraka thinks to have found the miraculous solution that would satisfy everybody: a transitional joint power directed by Marc Ravalomanana, Andry Rajoelina and his own self. Rajoelina seemed interested for a while until he required the right to appoint the national unity government chief.
Then, the admiral dropped it all. Still witty on the day before his 73rd birthday celebrated at midnight, Didier Ratsiraka does not lack of stunning replies: why not appointing Mrs Mialy Rajoelina right away at the Transition’s Presidency! This was the final scoop of the day. It was definitely more a joke to ease tensions a real proposition. The Zafy mobility rather played a low profile, apparently satisfied with what it was granted by Maputo I and II, as well as from the meeting of October 06 in Antananarivo. The vice-presidency is largely enough.
