The armed forces’ top command rejected the half military half civilian government

The army’s chief and the state police’s commander in chief said no Andry Rajoelina. Both generals required explanations of the roadmap from Andry Rajoelina one month ago, they got it, addressed it, and finally rejected it. The green machine is, thereupon, not going to be involved in the erection of the government, be it of national unity, national salvation or anything else. Andry Rajoelina is going to have to find a C plan. The armed forces’ leaders are keen on recovering a shadow of neutrality after being byous for a full year.  

Any officer eager to integrate the government as technician or called to do so will do so without uniform. « Militaries are fully allowed to enjoy their citizenship » read general Ndriarijaona’s communique. « As citizens and only simple citizens will they integrate the government or an institution if called to do so ».  

The top command is even displaying totally free from charges concerning the current leader’s choice. The state can select whatever officer who will anyway be free to accept or not. Both army leaders are, however, intending to remain in control of the counterweight. « One asked for a clear and controllable roadmap », specified the CEMGAM.  

« One definitlely do not want to be responsible of a military entering the government », reiterated general Bruno Razafindrakoto. . The national state police’s commander in chief emphasized his denial of military involvement within the government while granting his blessing to any military citizen willing to take part into the civilian ruling power. There were always some soldiers in the government « , he said as a matter of relaitvizing the likely presence of militaries within the executive team. « The armed forces are neither entitled to present any of its members nor impose its quotas », explained general Razafindrakoto. Such a pace away from the political sphere is, according to him, dedicated to the protection of the armed forces’ unity.  

Both of the armed forces’ top commands are calling the population to keep its calm before political situation. They want the army to restrict to its original duty, as the defense of national sovereignty, the protection of goods and people. The general Razafindrakoto made it public that the previous council of acting generals organized by the president of the National Defense Military Committee has had no influence on both generals’ decision.  

According to the state police’s number 1, generals simply wanted to renew contacts between each other. The Prime minister, Camille Vital, has been invited to attend this meeting between high ranked officers in Analamahitsy, in the Senate’s facilities. Generals Ndriarijaona and Razafindrakoto have left the meeting very early, certainly due to the call of duty
