The opposing mayor Guy Maxime Ralaiseheno arrested for nothing ?

One more opponent . The president of the ASSOCIATION OF MADAGASCAR´S MAYORS(AMM) is become the HAT´s latest victim. On November 20th 2010, Guy Maxime Ralaiseheno rallied his colleagues to demonstrate against the enforced early municipal elections meanted to be cast on December 20th. Various opponents to the authority including the three opposition´s spheres joined the movement.

09:00 a.m crowds are growing all around, The HAT forces engaged patrols in order to deter demonstrators without very much success. 10:00 a.m. the mayor of Ankaraobato joined the area, his official tricolor scarf tied to his tie. This democratic symbol was no match for the EMMO REG troops. Guy Maxime Ranarivelo opposed no resistance, when being brutally captured by 5 men. The surrounding crowd could nothing but boo their wrath at the police forces.

  After an investigation in Betongolo´s state police station, in its political cases department, Guy Maxime Ranarivelo can count on being sent into court and subsequently convicted, just like all those who dared to challenge Andry Rajoelina´s absolute authority. The president of the AMM organized a political demonstration in spite of a general ban. However, this controversial ban is supposed to have expired on November 20th. Guy Maxime Ranarivelo declared that he needs no authorisation to demonstration, for demonstration is a way to express views.

  In for a new transition
Has no one told Ankaraobato´s mayor that free speech in  Madagascar is dead? As if his situation was not tricky enough, he expressed something else, in addition to his opposition to the early municipal elections enforced by the TGV and the Rajoelina sphere. Since the HAT has empowered a magistrate affiliated to Norbert Ratsirahonana´s allied AVI party on top of the State Council, this institution has no been opposing any of the HAT actions. The AMM´s request was a dead duck from scratch.

Guy Maxime Ranarivelo and the AMM actually required the authoritarian leader to step down and make place for an inclusive and consensual transitional regime not forcibly linked to the opposition´s Ravalomanana, Zafy and Ratsiraka spheres. The demonstration held in Analakely was swiftly considered by the dictating power as an attempted putsch.

The series of latest events´ timing have become a red light for the dictating power. In Saturday´s evening, The HAT finally gave in and postponed by one of the Vital government´s orders, municipal elections happening to be boycotted by candidates themselves. One more stupid political calculation ending like a shot in the dark
