Three opponents to the HAT arrested in the run of a banned political gathering which led to clashes between police forces and opponents have been transferred to Ambatolampy. The opposition is denouncing a violation of the freedom of speech operated by a subdued justice. Repressions are officially intensifying in order to protect November 17th`s referendum process.

Fetison Andrianirina and Stanislas Zafilahy from the Ravalomanana front  plus parson Edouard Tsarahame from the Zafy sphere have been transferred to a more politically oriented penitentiary, although it is far from enough to silence their supporters vividly requiring their immediate release. “Justice is simply giving in to the power`s will, we thoroughly oppose this” vociferated Mamy Rakotoarivelo.

The opposition is intending to carry the struggle on in spite of the HAT led repression. The general and HAT Prime Minister and his Interior ministry officially forbad any political gathering but those supporting the referendum related campaign.”we are so far remaining inside the Magro square for the time being, because we are being harassed whenever we are making a step out of it”, explained Mamy Rakotoarivelo. Some twenty demonstrators have been arrested in the run of the latest demonstration which challenged the ban. The police forces carried arrests on all along the next day.

According to Mamy Rakotoarivelo, the HAT is ignoring the international community`s condemnations: “we are asking the international community for a condemnation of such a control on justice”. Marc Ravalomanana, former president ousted by the putsch, produced in South Africa a statement condemning the arrested leaders` prison sentence and required their immediate release. The international contact group would soon take notice of this dictatorial regime`s latest deviation.

The resistance is holding on as far as possible although the HAT is decided to use every way, including the use of force, in order to impose its referendum supposed to provide legality to the transitional power and pave Andry Rajoelina`s way to his 4th Republic. Tensions are on the rise within the opposition, since an increasing number of voices is keen on “giving change back” to the HAT. Mamy Rakotoarivelo is however moderating the tone: “we are bound to have, but we are going to do so the democratic way, do let us freely express our point”.

Supported by the armed forces commanded by the EMMO REG, the HAT is successfully silencing a peaceful opposition. Although demonstrations banned by the authorities are occurring without trouble, the armed forces´ very presence is leading to clashes. The HAT Prime Minister´s decision implemented through the use of violence is capitalizing another dictatorial pace expected to pave the way for a democratic republic. Meanwhile, the HAT leader and his ministers are roaming across the country, campaigning for the referendum. Only the CENI officially believes that they are not campaigning for the YES vote.
