The political demonstrations are resuming to influence the outcome of Maputo II

The place of legality, in the Magro Square Akorondrano is occupied anew by Marc Ravalomanana’s supporters until the outcome of the Maputo II negotiations. Yves Aimé Rakotoarison, member of the delegation that travelled to the Mozambican capital city, is reiterating his camp’s position. « The Ravalomanana mobility doesn’t accept to recognize a power takeover in an anti-constitutional manner « , he said. 

The holding of the political meetings on the place of legality is a voluntary violation of to some of the Maputo I agreements. « We have planned meetings for at least until Wednesday, when the Rajoelina mobility is also going to organize a demonstration », explained Yves Aime Rakotoarison. 

The TGV is preparing a big appointment supposedly between the population and Andry Rajoelina. Basically planned to be hosted by the gymnasium of Mahamasina, the demonstration will finally take place at the presidential Palace of Ambohitsorohitra. The meeting is likely to be held on the garden, most likely on the football pitch – as a matter of fact, the palace has a football pitch – and all of the TGV supporters are invited. 

Andry Rajoelina wants to legitimize his response for the agreements of Maputo II. He needs, either to justify the compromise to his allies, or to hold on his position and keep Roindefo as his Prime minister. Whatever the stand, the HAT’s president is requiring a shadow of popular support usually limited to crowd’s cheers. The so-said popular aspiration is supposed to emerge from the garden or from the pitch of Ambohitsorohitra. 

After Maputo II, the Rajoelina mobility has the initiative. In Ambohitsorohitra will be organized a demonstration of a new age direct democracy. The TGV clan sulked the meeting between the four mobilities proposed by the « raiamandreny » Albert Zafy, officially because of another meeting held in parallel. The former president reiterated his call to unite the four mobilities on Thursday. The HAT immediately did the same. 

The latest remaining propaganda media groups after Andry Rajoelina’s political takeover are those allied to the HAT. The moods are bleak, the situation is tense. Is this the quiet before the storm? In any case, warring terms are overloading the air waves anew. Attacks are gushing again against an international community which insists for the setting up of a consensus. 

These pro HAT media groups are proposing to leave the international community for good and to maintain Transition’s gains at all cost, namely the couple Andry Rajoelina as president and Monja Roindefo as Prime minister. A well-known private channel previously famous for being Ratsiraka’s proxy, stood out by defending the HAT president’s interests at the expenses of Roindefo’s job, again promised the admiral’s mobility. One daily newspaper published that one mobility had allegedly paid an influential TV station to run Monja Roindefo down and to push him to resignation.
