The Ravalomanana mobility is breaking away from the MFM about the involvement into the second meeting in Maputo. The non respect of the agreements between the big four mobilities by the current authorities of transition is being denounced, although not considered as a motive for boycott.

The Ravalomanana mobility is yearning to « make it to the end of the road » in Maputo

« We will go to Maputo even though the Maputo agreements have not been respected « .So reads the message sent by the Ravalomanana mobility’s moderate wing which is definitely keeping aside from the polemic been born between the MFM party and the transition’s Justice minister. « Prime minister » Manandafy Rakotonirina refused to sign the commitment letter imposed by judicial authorities. Here is something else to complicate his release procedures further more.

The Ravalomanana mobility is convinced that the release of prisoners arrested in the 2009 political crisis context as well as the interruption of judicial procedures concerning them should be completed immediately. According to the TIM party Mamy Rakotoarivelo, imposing different kind of conditions to the release of political prisoners is unacceptable. « We cannot tolerate it but we are going to get to the end of the road », he insisted.

The former TIM parliamentarian made some sort of denial over declarations from some  of the MFM party members interviewed and recorded by the press. « It has been wrongly told that the Ravalomanana mobility would make its involvement into the meeting of Maputo II depend on the release of political prisoners », said Mamy Rakotoarivelo.

The Ravalomanana mobility displayed no uneasiness. The MFM’s incentive is comprehended but not up to make of Manandafy Rakotonirina’s release a condition to the involvement into the meeting of Maputo II.  The delegation’s composition is even likely to alter, as the legalistic Prime Minister’s release date is still uncertain.

At the time of the Maputo I meeting, the Ravalomanana mobility was made of TIM party members, legalistic militants and members of the democratic alliance. Three figures from the MFM party took part to the journey as well. The passengers list of the flight to Maputo might undergo some changes if Manandafy’s party decides boycott the appointment.

For his lieutenants, Manandafy Rakotonirina would act as a hero by refusing to leave jail with those conditions imposed by the authorities of transition. The party’s founder did « a sacrifice to the service of the cause: the literal respect of the first Maputo agreement ». They are estimating that this gesture is a step toward the purification of the practice of the politics.

Ralaikoa Samuël, a MFM party member, is convinced that « the involvement of Justice in the Maputo agreements is not fair ». He believes in the amnesty as solution to the political crisis. There has already been a precedent in the country. In 1971, a patriot named Monja Jaona has owed his release to a law on national pardon. His son, Prime minister Monja Roindefo, doesn’t really buy in this frame of mind for the time being, as deplored by the MFM.
