Colonel Lylison and generals Radafy and Ravalomanana did not appear properly armed to deny accusations of "genocide" and "violation of human rights" perpetrated by security forces in the run of a guerrilla like war against the Dahalo. "Theories" recovered the front scene at the expenses of facts. These theories actually targeted one single enemy, namely Louisette Raharimalala, former member of the latest legal Parliament, who has just publicly denounced abuses in the south and openly blamed them on the armed forces.

The security forces’ next common target: Louisette Raharimalala

As for the State Police’s number one, General Richard Ravalomanana argued that alleged genocide is no business to Louisette Raharimalala. General Iama Radafy, commander of the state police department in Toliary, and first responsible of the operation Tandroka emphatically denied all the charges of violation of the rights, and retaliated with accusations of politically motivated manipulation against police forces.
« Our soldiers never set houses and villages alight. Scores of citizens were on our sides, and were ordered to march on our rears. Sometimes they help us with the transportation of ammunition in their bag. They were frustrated and pissed off for having lost everyth

« Our soldiers never set houses and villages alight. Scores of citizens were on our sides, and were ordered to march on our rears. Sometimes they help us with the transportation of ammunition in their bag. They were frustrated and pissed off for having lost everything, more than 200 zebu heads for some of them. They did set fire to villages deserted by Dahalo forces retreating in disarray. «

Too bad. The story produced by General Radafy completely contradicts the scorched land strategy previously endorsed by the special forces as their most conclusive way to prevent Dahalo troops from taking roots down anywhere. The state’s TV station even broadcasted it in a live report. « The dozens of dead bodies seen on TV screens were civilians who resisted enemy occupation. Whoever is attempting to blame this slaughter on our men by associating pictures which have nothing to do with each other, are merely trying to slander on the armed forces, « added General Radafy.

Now is Louisette Raharimalala’s turn to have her share of slander from the officers involved in the operation Tandroka, considering her ability to draw Amnesty International’s attention on violations of human rights perpetrated by the transitional regime and its armed forces. The famous theories produced by these senior members or the armed forces actually merely come up to hints expected to play political figures down. Their single purpose? Putting the blame on the « ousted President » Marc Ravalomanana and charging « politicians ever intending to run the next presidential election. » In any case, Louisette Raharimalala has always been one of the scarce people who dared to criticize the HAT and its ambition to take power through an electoral process. Could she possibly be the woman to beat?ing, more than 200 zebu heads for some of them. They did set fire to villages deserted by Dahalo forces retreating in disarray. «
