The outcome of the battle for the joint management of the Transition is not yet known. Pushed as well as pressured by his supporters and his mobility, Andry Rajoelina replies to what he calls the systematic attacks stemming from the other mobility leaders. The young transitional president is supporting the consensus which is about to grant legitimacy to his Coup, actually at his own expenses. So there he is back with the warlike statements of the place of May 13th.

The three vs. one war: Andry Rajoelina outraged

Andry Rajoelina is striking back against whoever he considers to be his political enemy, at least in the present situation. “The Addis Ababa stage was a three vs. one tournament”, he unfolded. “These three leaders’ target is the transitional leader, my own self”, he complains.  “I have never been criticizing professor Zafy for all that time. It is shocking. Everytime something breaks down in the erection of the government, I am being systematically blamed; my name is always being quoted. It is all the same for admiral Ratsiraka “. Whining tiredness is, somehow, in the air.

The refusal to make for Maputo for an umpteenth last chance round of talks between the four mobility leaders is the Rajoelina mobility’s new main argument. Propaganda proves mercyless since it is all about destroying the “former” presidents’ images. in front of a carefully selected press, the transitional president gets on his tall horse to brag over one of his favorite themes: patriotism. “I would not like this country to seek deeper in the crisis, how many mobility leaders do really care about the nation’s interest?”, protested Andry Rajoelina. “I accepted to rule this country together with others because making a hostage of the Malagasy people is not acceptable”, he boasted.

Andry Rajoelina recognized that many things do remain incomplete within the Malagasy transitional charter’s additional act signed in Addis Ababa. “The negotiations are over, time is for implementation”, claimed the transitional president. He is actually trying to limit the damages, since this title, granted in exchange of a whole consensus by the three other mobilities, happened to be politically highly expensive. He named his Coup as “the change (allegedly) wanted by the people” which had to be, allegedly again, completed.

The Rajoelina mobility is clamping its fists behind its leader for trying to avoid further more concessions, although it was dimmed to be in for an undisputed imperial reign during its unilateral transition. Andry Rajoelina tried to save what he could by ceremoniously declaring: “I decide not to go to Maputo “.By so doing, he is, at least, skirting on a new humiliating confrontation with the former presidents who successfully, definitely and seriously dented the little of his credibility on the international plan. “The solution is the videoconferencing “, said Andry Rajoelina, requiring the ultimate negotiation round to be made public.

Playing low profile is off the point. “I find it shameful to make for a foreign country to defend the nation’s honour, to protect the Malagasy people’s interests and settle position personal interest struggles between Madagascans”, boldly stated Andry Rajoelina. He pretended, then, that the issue meant to be sorted out abroad is merely concerning two or three ministries. “I am begging the three mobility leaders to look for a true solution “, he said, arguing that the concerned ministries would have allegedly been made available by the Rajoelina mobility. The transitional president is miles, light years away from having the upper edge in the struggle.
