The Zafy and Ratsiraka mobilities make for Maputo in order to be back on track, but indeed not to only arbitrate between Ravalomanana and Rajoelina. They hope for an agreement and a solution to the political crisis in Madagascar to be found between all four sides.

The Zafy and Ratsiraka mobilities: a wished agreement from and for the four

Former president Albert Zafy is confident as for the outcome of negotiations between mobilities, which take place in Mozambique, negotiations monitored by the SADC mediator. « I hope that each and everyone is going to take his responsibilities », he has declared before his departure from Antananarivo. According to the professor, « if the four parties accept to make for Maputo, it is already a sign of good will « .

Professor Albert Zafy took his faithful lieutenants with him for the decisive appointment in Maputo. His former Prime minister and still his right hand, Emmanuel Rakotovahiny, was the leader of the Zafy mobility during negotiations at the Carlton hotel in Antananarivo.

After some time at the Ravalomanana regime’s presidential service, then in Antananarivo’s city council for Andry Rajoelina, technician Serge Radert is back beside his spiritual father. Political advisor Yves Razanamasy is going to participate to negotiations. The Zafy mobility’s delegation is completed by Manoro Régis, Miandrisoa Marcel, José Vianey and Dr Joseph.

Ange Andrianarisoa appeared more defying than usual on the eve of the Ratsiraka mobility’s departure for Maputo. « This appointment is important, because the whole Madagascan people is going to win through this », said the former national assembly’s president. « We hope for an agreement for the good of Madagascar and not for personal interest », he added. According to Ange Andrianarisoa, such an agreement is paramount to solve the economic difficulties and the insecurity problems in the country, as soon as possible.

In the Ratsiraka mobility’s delegation, there are well known figures from the years of the admiral’s regime. Former senator Moïse Rakotosihanaka, former ministers Azaly Ben Marofo and Jean Jacques Rasolondraibe, former governor Emilson, Rakotoarisoa Ramisandrazana as well as Mon Sort Enselme can be quoted.

Contrary to the Ravalomanana and Rajoelina mobilities, those of Zafy and Ratsiraka seem preoccupied neither by power sharing during the transition nor by the pre campaign for election. Priorities are different for these negotiations. The Zafy mobility militates for national reconciliation, while the Ratsiraka mobility calls upon amnesty.
