No lull allowed for police forces. The conflict between magistrates and the national police forces, caused by the death of an assistant attorney beat up by policemen in Toliara (South), is on its way to deteriorate badly. The clash is quickly extending to tensions between unhappy police forces and the ruling power

Ticking time bomb within the national police forces

Policemen were arrested in response to the magistrate´s death although they are not undoubtedly guilty. Their colleagues do not appreciate that their colleagues are being made scapegoats instead of the genuine killers still at large.

The arrested policemen are being held at the police forces´ intervention base camp (FIP) in custody. Their comrades refused to take them to court away. Unsatisfied figures would be bound to challenge the ruling power.

The event does somehow recall 1975. A mutiny of police and army forces took place by that time in the midst of a transitional period in Madagascar
