Though having been cast out of from the settlement process by a HAT skirting around through the deletion of the Rajoelina mobility, the Ravalomanana, Zafy and Ratsiraka mobilities can expect to be put back in track by the new Malagasy mediators. The opposition is running campaign for the deletion of the whole of the current transition.

What about the three mobilities?

The opposition has to restrict to meetings indoors with the regions’ population as open air gatherings are still banned and repressed by the HAT. It does not seem to deter the opposition since the campaign aims at providing the population, especially the local leadership, with information. The message is addressing the end of the Rajoelina transition.

« This transition has been lasting too long enough, the Malagasy people is suffering, we need a solution quickly « , declared Fetison Andrianirina in Mampikony. « This regime is dividing us, Malagasy « , he insisted. The Ravalomanana mobility’s delegation chief emphatically repeated that a transitional period is not supposed to extend as such « . The speech is brand new and induces confusion about the joint three mobilities’ strategy shared between the will to draw the HAT’s undisputed rule to an end and the concern related to a potential participation into Andry Rajoelina’s unilaterally organized elections.

The three mobilities running campaign, a counter propaganda, for the end of the HAT. « I feel pity for Malagasy citizens who do not always grasp the reality’s extents », said the former TIM deputy, Hery Raharisaina. « They are yearning for change « , he added, while underlining that the explanation campaign is the mean to shortcut the propaganda and the « lies » generated by the authorities. « The people is fed up with this regime « .

The recent movements in the north of the country, through Mampikony, Port-Bergé, Mahajanga, Ambanja, Antsiranana… have somehow weakened the mobilization in Antananarivo. The three mobilities’ supporters finally cancelled the forbidden march dimmed to be repressed without a doubt by the Emmo Reg in the run of the independence day. The potential presence of opponents to the HAT shouting the malcontent loud at June 26th various ceremonies happens to be the nightmare in chief for an authority keen on patching up unity appearances for the independence’s 50th birthday.

As for the political negotiations meant to lead to the crisis’ settlement, the three mobilities are allowed to stand by both actors: the international Contact Group and the 100% Malagasy mediation increasingly escaping the HAT grip. The Raiamandreny mijoro and the civil society’s coalition are leading talks with the mobilities so that they join the other political and civilian forces in the national dialog’s settings. The national reconciliation, including the amnesty issue might be interesting for them. Some forty political prisoners and the pending suits for several other figures, including the ousted president Marc Ravalomanana are a very good incentive to participation, an incentive still to be capitalized.
