Ravalomanana mobility: the HAT stands no chance to be recognized

The Ravalomanana mobility, long reconciled with the Ratsiraka and Zafy mobilities are joining forces to hinder the HAT from earning international recognition through the organization an election in an unilateral way. The Magro square based rallies are in for fuelling militancy up to the political upraise on March 16th, 2010. « International sanctions coming into force will be forcing the HAT to comply, do make no fear », Marc Ravalomanana’s favourite sentence is warming his partisans’ hearts up. « The international community will recognize no elections unless we all recover the Maputo Charter’s path », argued the ousted president.  

Marc Ravalomanana predicted the dead end as the HAT roadmap’s outcome. « Could they insist on organizing this vote, no one is going to accept it « , he confirmed. The president in exile reminded the international support’s genuine relevance repeatedly downsized by the authorities. « Some 80% of the country’s development budgets are based on foreign financial support, be it from the World Bank, the BAD or from the partner nations », he argued.  The Ravalomanana mobility’s strategy is, for the time being, restricted to waiting for the International Contact Group’s verdict, in expectation of an enforced resumption of the inclusive and consensual Transition pledged by the signatures of mobility leaders in Maputo.  

In Antananarivo, TIM and legalistic militants are recovering a second breath since the ICG ultimatum against the dictating authority. « The HAT stubbornly keeps on holding on to its stand though asking for international recognition « , underlined Jean Louis Rakotoamboa.  The Secretary General of the Teza party has no faith in any unilaterally drafted solution to the crisis, be it an election. The Ravalomanana mobility is mobilizing the population fokontany after fokontany to boycott the eventual elections. Committees supportive of the Maputo Charter’s implementation are increasingly swarming throughout city districts.  

The former TIM deputy Hery Raharisaina criticized, on the other hand, the « HAT military strategy ». « The army is funny isn’t it? It previously told itself not eager to take power on unclear account, whereas that is exactly what they are doing, and now we have to wonder why again », he said. He subsequently made fun of the generals introduced in a government directed by a colonel. « So many soldiers in the government are certainly a bad sign, the population must remain cautious », warned Hery Raharisaina.  

The Ravalomanana mobility leaders have no fear from any of the HAT new Foreign Office minister. « The Vice-admiral Hyppolite Ramaroson was part of the delegation personally led Andry Rajoelina in Brussels and failed at that early time, and they are expecting him to deliver on his own several months later ». The navy officer is only being asked to produce as an actor and witness his vision of March 17th, 2009 putsch, and to enforce foreign recognition of unilaterally organized elections without any need to deal with any Maputo based Transition or any national unity government, isn’t he?
