Electoral campaign – presidential election’s 2nd round: the HERY VAOVAO party more active than the NY AVANA party

Review of the electoral campaign’s second week’s developments related to the year 2013’s presidential election’s second round –  Hery Rajaonarimampianina may truly hold himself as spoiled by the national TV channel news when it came to putting his program through. No wonder after all… The man with no party has become the pawn and the king on Andry Rajoelina’s dictatorship keyboard, has he not?
For the sake of a fair assessment, there were less genuine program lines to share than waves of rabid electoral promises deemed to nothing more than reaching out for the largest possible audience. He has been roaming through the capital city’s lowest areas like never before with an amazing insistence.
Half so amazing, actually, since Hery Rajaonarimampianina is trailing behind his rival, and definitely has to do what it takes to conquer the lost upper hand in the capital city. Another pending victory for Jean Louis Robinson in the capital city and throughout the Analamanga region would lead to a chilling disaster for Andry Rajoelina.
Some sources confirmed that the ruling party’s champion had to make do with a campaign focusing on the capital city for the time being due to a delayed released of the needed cash to extend his campaign to the whole of the island. Still, Hery Rajaonarimampianina can rely on a helicopter provided by “friends” of his without a shadow of opposition from any state security institution.
Every measure supposed to boost the HERY VAVAO virtual party’s candidate’s popularity seems to have been taken. As transitional finance minister, he used to be expected to defuse the consequent troubles caused by what the transitional rule has wrought, namely by paying for nothing but what he could afford. His asset drawn from his years in charge: the creation of three thousand jobs in the national economy.
The runner up is not remotely bound to accept any assessment of his performance on the basis of the unpaid wages, scholarships, and compensations, all of these issues which have been fueling social unrests over the latest years. “Criticizing anyone else’s performance is not suited for a future President of the Republic” he voiced his objection, in accordance with the transitional rule’s motto: Do what I tell you to and not what I do.
How efficient will candidate Jean Louis Robinson’s strategy of leaving his rival free to do as he pleases ultimately prove? A single candidate’s rabid plea yearning for voters around the clock is definitely likely to cause the very opposite effect to a certain extent, but still… Jean Louis Robinson’s first week of campaigning throughout the central highlands reflected a more targeted electoral aggressiveness.
The NY AVANA political party’s candidate lead his first electoral onslaught straight away in the hearts of his rival’s strongholds, namely in the Upper Matsiatra region, then carried on in the Analamanga and the Itasy regions for the sake of securing his first round gains. The Ravalomanana political sphere’s strategy seems to consist in systematically crushing its rival’s influence stronghold after stronghold, with the Alaotra Mangoro region as starting point.
So, what about the contribution from the game of alliances with the first electoral round’s outsiders? Andry Rajoelina still happens to be light years away from formally reaching the 55 percents boasted before the French press. It did not take the rival side too long either to react successfully and in quite a chivalric way: by Court’s decision, the Ravalomanana political sphere formally recovers the TIAKO I MADAGASIKARA party and trademark previously misused by deserters at the Rajoelina sphere’s instigation.
