During a phone line intervention on the Place of Legality, the ousted president Marc Ravalomanana has emphasized to his supporters that the inclusive and consensual Transition's executive role assignment is not undisputable. The statement produced by, Ablassé Ouedraogo, one of the International Contact Group's consultants, does not worth an official decision.

Marc Ravalomanana replies to the “Consultant” Ouedraogo

Nothing is lost yet for the legalistic supporters of President Marc Ravalomanana. The President called upon protestors and militants not to be downed by the words spoken by the International Contact Group’s mediator (ICG), according to which the transitional president’s role has definitely been granted to Andry Rajoelina. “Ablassé Ouedraogo is only a consultant, it is not a decision-maker”, protested Marc Ravalomanana. The latest democratically elected president keeps holding on on his positions: “We will never accept putsch authors to be on top of the Transition”.

The African Union mediator is downsizing, and even ignoring Marc Ravalomanana’s opposition to Andry Rajoelina’s transitional presidency. Ablassé Ouedraogo is sticking to the meeting of October 06th held in Antananarivo, the final chapter of whatever has been started during Maputo II according to him. He would, henceforth, be speaking in the name of the international community when affirming that moving forward is the most important thing. Addis Ababa would stage the completion of the transitional role assignment. Ablassé Ouedraogo is referring to the still empty seats in the national unity government and in the other projected transitional institutions. Further contestation of the transitional President and Prime Minister seems to be cast aside from his schedule.

Marc Ravalomanana declared to its partisans that if he had the intention to go to Addis Ababa, so it means that nothing can yet be taken for granted as consultant Ouedraogo would like it to be. The latter conceded that the ousted President will be entitled to defend his ideas, but hinted that it would not interest the ICG anymore. According to Ablassé Ouedraogo, the international mediation absolutely wants the Transition to be settled in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Hinting that politicians should silence their personal interests to serve the supreme national ones happens to be a state of art attack against Marc Ravalomanana, a speech echoing the de facto transitional president’s propaganda. Andry Rajoelina enjoys repeating it time and time again, he is glad to keep the power acquired through a putsch back in latest March.

The Transition’s Presidency for the Rajoelina mobility is actually not exactly the same as an Andry Rajoelina as the Transition’s President; there is a difference. Elected mayor of Antananarivo, the young TGV does not want to leave the country’s top. His political fame is, besides, based on the fact that it succeeded in reversing President Ravalomanana. Addiction is the fate of whoever has a taste of power; Andry Rajoelina, though pretending not to be politically but patriotically engaged, will not be the exception.  Marc Ravalomanana personally insists, on the other side, that a neutral transition must be directed neither by the author nor by the victim of a putsch. Therefore he believes in the existence of other solutions without Rajoelina… or Ravalomanana.
