Rajoelina’s political mentor appears in broad daylight

The time has come for him to step up on stage. Edgard Razafindravahy has been named Special Delegation’s President (PDS) for Antananarivo’s town hall. He took office immediately after a due takeover ceremony with Michèle Ratsivalaka, on August 11th. 

Antananarivo city’s new administrator will, without a doubt, try to follow the path drawn by a certain Marc Ravalomanana. The latter actually rose up to the presidency indeed through his own success as head of the capital city’s town hall. The sensible difference, however,  is that Ravalomanana has been elected. Razafindravahy has not. 

Marc Ravalomanana and Edgard Razafindravahies are both well-known businessmen within the very closed private sector circle. The cold war between both men had been becoming an open secret during the latest years. The current PDS could anyway hardly hide his ambitions.  

After the foundation of a media group namely made up by Radio Antsiva, The express and RTA, Edgard Razafindravahy could hardly ever hide either his complicity with Andry Rajoelina, or the will of a group of policians who have been keen on getting rid of Marc Ravalomanana since the 2007 local election. 

In the same way, Edgard Razafindravahy could hardly hide his presidential ambitions. They could visibly not wait for the end of Ravalomanana’s mandate in 2011, as neither could a lot of politicians craving to accelerate the events. 

Since Marc Ravalomanana had to wither, the time has come for Rajoelina’s mentor to come out of from the background. Andry Rajoelina is expected to fade away progressively within the next months to leave the stage to the capital city’s PDS, who should become the new hero of a new struggle aiming at Ravalomanana’s political death.  

Although, the Transition’s fifteen months period is quite long. Until then, many things can happen.
